Top 10 Tips For K-12 Health

ONE: SHAPE America. The resources found here are standard-aligned and come from fellow educators. Teachers will find a variety of lessons to help support digital learning in grades K-12.

TWO: BAM! Body and Mind. This resource contains a variety of information and resources for teachers of grades K-12 to use in the classroom and help students make healthier lifestyle

THREE: KidsHealth. Offers educators free health-related lesson plans for grades K-12th. Resources include discussion questions, activities and extensions, printable handouts, and quizzes.

FOUR: EVERFI. Health and wellness resources that teach students to make healthy choices in a safe environment. EVERFI partners with sponsors nationwide to offer interactive, online health resources to K-12 schools free of charge.

FIVE: PBS Learning Media. Discover resources that provide essential lessons on physical, mental, and emotional health in grades K-12.

SIX: National Institute on Drug Abuse for Teens. Lessons, activities, and drug facts to educate teens about the effects and consequences of drug use. This resource focuses on grades 6-12

SEVEN: ChooseMyPlate. Use ChooseMyPlate to let students explore how to eat healthy. There are videos, resources for teachers, quizzes, and more. Create a scavenger hunt for your students! This is a good resource for all grades.

EIGHT: SmokeScreen. A tobacco use prevention videogame that addresses a range of challenges that young teens face with a dedicated focus on decision-making about smoking and vaping. For grades 6-12.

NINE: Kids’ Quest. An online resource to help students learn about disabilities and health. The resource is interactive and allows students to explore a variety of disabilities and the impact on health. Best suited for grades 6-12.  

TEN: Fit Sanford. The latest scientific and behavioral research designed to educate, motivate, and inspire children of all grade levels to live a balanced, healthy lifestyle.
